Jubilee Celebration Dinner

Welcome to the Sherborne Freemasons Website

Here we keep visitors and our members up to date with our

Lodge and social activities.

We give non-members an opportunity to see what we are doing in our local community in Sherborne and provide them with further information should they wish to join our fraternity.

Our regular meetings are all held at:

Masonic Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne, Dorset DT9 3NL

Lodge of Benevolence 1168 was Constituted in 1867

under charter from the United Grand Lodge of England

as part of the Masonic Province of Dorset, although Freemasons have been meeting in Sherborne since 1786.

We meet every 2nd Monday in January, February, March, April, May, June, September, November and December at 6.30pm.

The October meeting is our Installation and is held on the 1st Monday

and Tyles at 5.30pm.

How To Join Freemasonry

We are a society of men concerned with upholding

social and moral values who believe in the key princples of

Integrity, Respect, Friendship and Service.

Becoming a Freemason means you’ll be joining more than 200,000 members throughout England and Wales, with many more members overseas.

Membership is open to any man over the age of 18 and who is of good character, irrespective of race or religion.

True to the sense of friendship and togetherness among Freemasons, meetings are not only ceremonial but are also social events, providing an occasion for members to dine together.

If you are interested in finding out how to become a Freemason, please get in touch with using the  'Contact'  form.

The Lodge of Benevolence is only open for men to join. But Freemasonry is equally open to women only Lodges. The two organisations closest to ours are Freemasonry for Women  https://hfaf.org/

and the Order of Women Freemasons  https://www.owf.org.uk/

Both women’s organisations, and ourselves, have equal values and practice Freemasonry in a very comparable way.

Freemasons have been meeting in Dorset for over 200 years.

THE PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OF DORSET provides more valuable information on who we are and what we do.    GO>
